Job 23:10-11
“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.”(NIV)
I will never go anywhere that You have not already been there before me. There is no breaking new ground when I am with You. It’s all cleared territory; all known path. And I don’t have to know the next step, because You do.
You have told me there will be testing. It’s no surprise. Sometimes the testing will be scary; sometimes it will hurt. But when you tell me I will come forth as gold, it’s because You already know that I will come through it. So, the testing isn’t so You can see how I will stand under pressure — You refine me so that I will know how faithful You are to be with me every moment, right through to the very end! Lord, how great is Your faithfulness!
So then, help me to follow closely in Your steps, no matter how dark or scary the path appears to me. Kill my pride when I think that my way is better. Keep me close to You; keep me thirsty and hungry for You, for Your Word. Give me Your strength, Father. You know me. You love me. I can trust You.
