Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
God will not ask me to do something without supplying the means to do it. Does what God is asking me to do seem impossible? Nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37) Do I feel like I will stand alone if I obey? God just said that He will be with me. Whatever excuse I can possibly use to keep from obeying what God asks me to do is refuted in His Word.
Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) said that “the end [purpose] of prayer is that I come to know God Himself.” Seeking Him, clinging to Him, running to Him, crying to Him, reading His Word, learning Him — this is the “supply” to obedience. The courage to obey comes from knowing Him; the desire to obey comes from knowing Him. He is with me wherever He calls me to go, and nothing is impossible with Him. Whom then shall I fear?
