Jehovah Rapha and different kinds of healing

Our family received hopeful news today. Our grandson’s brain tumors are shrinking; the weekly chemo treatments are working.

We understand that GOD is using chemotherapy to accomplish physical healing. But here are some other “kinds” of healing I have witnessed:

He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

We are not falling apart. Our hearts are not broken. We know that we are in the faithful hands of a Loving God.

And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “it was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was in order that the works of God might be displayed in him.” John 9:1-3

God, His Sufficiency, His Sovereignty, are on display at the hospital each week. We have a wide-open door to share Jesus’ healing of our sin with a watching world.

Healing, in my own life, has been every bit as astounding. Despite having rare, incurable, hard-to-treat conditions, God has healed my heart. I have joy. Even while my physical health declines, my spiritual health has flourished. Abandonment. Condemnation. Worthlessness. All gone. Healed.

My physical health has opened door after door of opportunities to share the gospel. God is truly being magnified by my life(Philippians 2:20).

I still pray for healing. But more than that, I pray for God to be glorified. Living a simple life of obedience to God is the best kind of healing.

I want to know what you think!
