I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is The Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable . Psalm 145:1-3
Beginning with praise. Reminding myself of God’s character. He is great, unsearchingly, immeasurably great.
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. . .they shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness… Psalm 145:4-6
I am so thankful for faithful saints who led me to Jesus, and who showed me what faithfulness to God looks like, O, God keep me faithful to you. Help me to declare to the next generation your faithfulness. Help my brothers and sisters in hard places to remember your faithfulness.
The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. . .your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. . .psalm 145:8-13
God is holy. Man is sinful. God is the Judge. Man stands condemned. Jesus paid the price. God sent His Only Son to save me. God is merciful.
As much as I long for God’s kingdom to come, when all the wrongs are made right and true justice reigns, I am mindful that there are still those I love who do not know your saving grace, who have not surrendered their lives to Jesus. There are still people who have never heard of your love and your payment for their sin. I pray for people to be willing to go and tell them about you. I pray that you would open hearts to hear the truth of your gospel. Give me boldness to declare your mighty works where I have opportunity. Lord, give me opportunities!
The Lord upholds all who are falling, and raises up all who are bowed down. . .the Lord is near to all. . .who call on him in truth. . .fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. . .Psalm 145:14-19
For my brothers and sisters who are discouraged, I pray that you would lift up their eyes to see your faithfulness. Keep us from error and guide us in your truth, by your Word. Help them to remember that they are not forgotten by you, even if they feel abandoned by everyone else. Open my eyes to see who may need encouragement today.
My mouth will speak the praise of The Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever. Psalm 145:21
Lord, I begin with praise. I end with praise. Make me faithful to speak of your faithfulness to me today. Give me encouraging words. Keep me faithful to your truth. Thank you for your mercy and grace.
Plea for Grace
