Literally, the most useless endeavor is to try to fool or manipulate God. He knows. Even when I try to lie to myself, He knows.
I am so grateful that this is also true–
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in Him. Nahum 1:7
