May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:11-14
Life is so much more than my present circumstances.
So much easier to write than to live.
Paul knew that when he wrote to the Colossians. He knew that when he was in a prison cell, aching from the beatings and alone.
Choosing gratitude when times are tough must come from God. His power to endure. His power to be patient. His power to have joy. His power to be thankful.
Father, you have given me a gift beyond measure. You rescued me from eternal darkness and suffering, and transferred me, adopted me into Your Son’s eternal kingdom. Jesus purchased my redemption, the forgiveness of my sin.
Circumstances are temporary. My redemption is eternal. God’s power to endure is sure.
I am so thankful.
