I want to come to Jesus with fresh eyes, a fresh heart, a fresh, teachable mind and spirit. It’s tempting to move quickly through a familiar passage (or a familiar phrase) with a “been there dealt with that” mentality.
But that’s not very teachable, is it?
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night. . .Psalm 92:1,2 ESV
It is good — fitting, proper, becoming — It’s the right and reasonable thing to do. I’m not “doing something special” for God in the sense that He is not deserving. Giving thanks to God is a reasonable action for a creature to the Creator.
