Weekly Prayer 09.10.18

Psalm 139:1-6 ESV – 1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O LORD, you have searched me and known me! 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. 3 You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. 5 You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Most High God,

You know me. You know everything. You know. You know the future. You know the past. You understand everything. You are in control of everything. You are God.

Oh, Lord, I am not invisible to You. My daily activities, my interactions with others, my thoughts, my intentions, are all known by You. Does that fill me with fear and dread and shame? No! It infuses hope into my soul, for it tells me that You have purpose for me, even in the most unseen, mundane things of life.

So, Father, my King and my Savior, use me for Your purpose. Make my steps to go where You want them to go. When I sit, help me to notice who is around me, who may need to hear of Your goodness and Your salvation. When I lie down, keep my thoughts pleasing to You. Kill the lies the enemy sends into my mind, and plant Your Word, Your truth into my mind and heart. Make me content with the boundaries You have placed on me. They are Your protection and care, not punishment. Help me to obey even before I understand. Help me to trust You. You know me . . .

amen

This week, please pray for our brothers and sisters in Mali.  Pray for Christians who have been displaced from their homes in Northern Mali by Islamic militants. Pray this hardship will not deter them from loving their neighbors.

I want to know what you think!
