It’s Christmas time!
Have you purchased a copy of Pursuing the Christ: Prayers for Christmastime, by Jennifer Kennedy Dean? If not, you can get it on Kindle here: http://a.co/d/2Dy18F7
My plan is not to just re-iterate the daily readings, prayers of the book. I want to suggest some Scripture to read, some questions to consider . . .all with the goal of setting our minds on Christ . . .
Read:
Philippians 2:5-8 CSB – 5 Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus, 6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited. 7 Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man, 8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death — even to death on a cross.
Consider:
Jesus so valued each of us that He left His throne from which He heard the
continual cry of “Holy, holy, holy” to take on a man’s frame and hear instead,“Crucify Him!” (Revelation 4:8; Matthew 27:22-23).
What comes to mind when you hear the word “humble?”
Pray:
Thank God for what he did to ensure we would have Emmanuel, “God with us.”
