Have you noticed consistent themes throughout the Word of God? After completing the books of Genesis, Isaiah, Mark, Romans; and we are now reading Exodus and 1 Thessalonians, we see . . .
God is sovereign.
God does what he says he will do.
Man is more sinful then we think we are.
God’s mercy is incredible.
This is God’s story, and he reveals his character and his ways to us.
God never ever leaves me, not for a moment.
There is purpose, even in the waiting times.
I was encouraged by Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” (Day 53) It struck me because this man had said, “Please send someone else.” and “What if they don’t believe me?” He may have stronger faith than many of the Israelites, but he still had his own struggles with believing God’s promises, and he was hearing it directly from God. So, I have doubts and struggles too, rely on Mark 9:24 most of the time, but I try to encourage others to believe. And right there, in between the Sea and the Egyptian army, I’m sure I would’ve been doubting. And then God delivers them all, the whiny doubters who want to go back to Egypt, and Moses and Aaron. So even the whiners and doubters get saved, not based on their strong faith, but on God’s promise.
I love that!! Saved because of God’s promise. Thank you.
