It’s that time of the year. The holidays come in quick succession. Shopping. Baking. Decorating. Busy, busy, busy . . .
Let’s not neglect our hearts in all the “holiday crazy.” Jesus is not only the “reason for the season;” Jesus is everything.
For the next few weeks, I want to meditate on the names and character attributes of God:
Jehovah
Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”
God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. Exodus 3:13-15 ESV
Father,
You are not only eternal, You are personal. You not only know my name, but You want me to know You by Your name.
Thank You for adopting me into Your family. Thank You for letting me know You. I love You, because You first loved me . . . (from 1 John 4:19)

Thank you! I get so bogged down with “the season” I just want to bury my head in the sand and come up for January 2. But refocusing is a good alternative 😘
Me, too. I don’t want to be a Scrooge either. . .so a brief something to think about. Thanks for going on this journey with me!
I always suffer from over-planning in the holidays like I have a year to complete what needs to be done in 4 weeks, followed by a depression that’s problems with not having delivered on my self performance. I thank God everyday for his grace and mercy and that I don’t have to live up to my expectations but his. That worshipping him and keeping him first is the only thing he wants.
His grace is truly amazing!
