Preparing our Hearts for the Holidays — Day 5

GOOD

God is the embodiment of perfect goodness, and is kind, benevolent, and full of good will toward all creation. Psalm 119:65-72

Psalm 119:65-72 ESV – 65 You have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according to your word. 66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. 68 You are good and do good; teach me your statutes. 69 The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; 70 their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law. 71 It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. 72 The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Lord,

You are good, and Your goodness is everlasting. Because You are eternal, and because You do not change, Your goodness is also forever. I can trust Your goodness. What an amazing God You are!

amen

  1. I used to hear people say, “She’s/he’s just a really good person” and it was about the highest compliment you could pay a person. Now we hear “that was a good game”,”good book”, and it just doesn’t mean the same thing. When did “good” become less about people and more about things? Thank God He never changes and is always and forever GOOD!

I want to know what you think!
