Preparing our Hearts for the Holidays — Day 7

Posted on: October 22, 2019

JEHOVAH-JIREH “The God who provides.”

Just as He provided yesterday, He will provide today and tomorrow. He grants deliverance from sin, the oil of joy for the ashes of sorrow, and eternal citizenship in His Kingdom for all those adopted into His household.

Psalm 65:5-9 ESV – 5 By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; 6 the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; 7 who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, 8 so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy. 9 You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it.

Amazing Sovereign of all creation,

You created everything, and You sustain everything by Your power. Nothing escapes Your notice; nothing is out of Your control.

Just as You provide food for all creatures, and water to nourish the plants and fill the seas, You exhibit that same intentional care for me. You created me; You saved me; You have promised to provide for me. Lord, help me to be content with You. Help me to trust You to be my provider.

amen
