Daily Prayer January 2, 2022

Proverbs 1:7-9 ESV – 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, 9 for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.

Lord, I want to fear You. I want to know You better to love You more. Help me to seek wisdom and not to wander into my own selfish foolishness. Help me to listen …

And, I pray this for my family and friends. I pray that they would fear You, that they would seek wisdom and knowledge from Your Word. I pray that they would hear and do Your will. Oh, Father, open their eyes to see the wonderful truths in Your law! Open their hearts to believe and trust in You.

For those who are choosing foolishness, who are wandering from Your wisdom and instruction — I pray that they would repent. I pray they would turn from their foolishness and choose wisdom. I pray You would “… open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” (from Acts 26:18). Lord, we are so lost without You!

Thank You for Your wisdom. Thank You for Your Word, to reveal who You are. “…the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth...” (from Isaiah 40:28)

Amen
