Plea for Grace January 7, 2022

“Let me be as the bullock which stands between the plough and the altar, to work or to be sacrificed; and let my motto be, “Ready for either”.”

— Charles H. Spurgeon

Psalm 119:67-68 ESV – 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. 68 You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.

Father,

How can I not trust You with my life, with my all? You are good; You are steadfast; You are holy; You are just; You are true. You are my Sovereign and my God. Thank You for the privilege of knowing Your Word. May I never take it for granted; Your Word is You showing me Your ways, guiding me in Your truth.

I pray for those servants who are laboring to bring Your Word to those who have never heard of You. Give them strength and wisdom. Encourage them by Your Word. For pastors who bring Your Word and shepherd their flocks, O Lord, give them wisdom and strength. Make them faithful to You, faithful to their families. For those who teach Your Word, I pray they would have the humility to know that they don’t know everything and be willing to be learners as well as teachers. I pray they would abandon hypocrisy and desire Your truth.

I love You, my Lord and my God.

amen

I want to know what you think!
