Plea for Grace January 14, 2022

Antidote for envy (or entitlement, self-pity, etc.)

Psalm 104:1, 24, 33-34 ESV – 1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, … 24 O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. … 33 I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. 34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.

You are my God; You chose me; You are my Father.

Psalm 119:30-32 ESV – 30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me. 31 I cling to your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame! 32 I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!

amen

  1. Yesterday’s post brought bitterness to mind. Wondering if it isn’t sometimes the flipside of the coin. Thx for sharing

    1. Envy can turn to bitterness in a heartbeat. I am so prone to wander (psalm 119:10) that I must “store up your word in my heart that I might not sin against you (psalm 119:11)

I want to know what you think!
