Plea for Grace

Plea for Grace January 16, 2022

Matthew 11:28 ESV – 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Such an invitation! The Sovereign Lord of all creation invites me to come to Him. He knows I am weary and burdened; He knows I am tired and weak. He knows . . . and He invites me to come to Him for what I so desperately need.

But to “come” I must leave — I must leave my self-righteousness; I must leave my insistence on independence; I must leave my will to live life on my own terms. I must leave bitterness and entitlement and envy and pride. I must leave them all behind and throw myself on God’s mercy and accept that Christ has fulfilled the law — for me, because I could not — and now offers me true rest and peace. The wrath of God is satisfied; I can rest . . .

amen

I want to know what you think!
