Plea for Grace February 6, 2022

Exodus 23:29-30 ESV – 29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and possess the land.

Isaiah 40:27-29 ESV – 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and my right is disregarded by my God”? 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

O Father in heaven,

How often we sin against You by stomping our feet (figuratively or literally) and insisting that You “do it now,” “change this now,” and then believe that You either don’t see or don’t care when You don’t operate on our timetable. . .God, please destroy such unbelief and wickedness!

You do see; You do act; but You also KNOW. You call us to remember Your faithfulness, remember Your steadfast love and Your care; remember Your sovereignty. In remembering, our faith is strengthened; our trust is increased. Our way is NOT hidden from You; our right is NOT disregarded. . .

Isaiah 30:15 ESV – 15 For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling. . .

Father, may repentance and patience be my constant companions; may it never be said that I was unwilling. . .

  1. He had the Israelites stack stones as a monument, more than once, so that they would have a reminder of his faithfulness, of his timeliness. How often I forget how good and gracious he has been to me, when he hasn’t “come through”when I thought he should. Maybe I need more rocks. . . 🤷‍♀️ Just sayin”

I want to know what you think!
