Plea for Grace February 12, 2022

Exodus 34:5-7 ESV – 5 The LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6 The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, 7 keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

Thank You, Father, for revealing Yourself to us. We do not worship an unknown deity, but a personal God who has chosen to reveal himself to have relationship with His creation. Knowing that You abound in mercy and grace, in steadfast love and faithfulness is such a comfort; knowing that You are as equally abounding in justice and holiness is a comfort as well. Psalm 73:23-26 ESV – 23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

  1. Psalm 73:24 is especially poignant to me. My mom was received into glory a year ago. She spent get life being guided by God’s counsel.

I want to know what you think!
