Deuteronomy 5:15 ESV – 15 You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Psalm 119:66-68 ESV – 66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. 68 You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.
Lord,
You are good. Your laws are for my good. You know that I need time for my body and my mind to rejuvenate. It is wicked to ignore Your statutes in order to impress You with my energy/enthusiasm/zeal. I remember that You are God, with no limits and no weariness — and I am not. I remember that You are God and have all power to supply — I am a steward and I benefit from Your supply. All my abilities, my strength, all comes from Your gracious hand. You are a good and gracious God, my Father . . .
