Plea for Grace

Plea for Grace March 19, 2022

Deuteronomy 4:39-40 ESV – 39 know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. 40 Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the LORD your God is giving you for all time.”

John 10:9, 14 ESV – 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. … 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,

How foolish and arrogant to want to follow my own way, as if I think I know better than God! What a mercy that God has given His Word so we can know Him and know how He has purposed for us to live. We don’t have to wonder if or guess — God has made himself known and made clear his statutes Deuteronomy 10:12-13 ESV – 12 “And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good?

When I start to wonder it’s always a good practice for me to go back to His word

Best way to combat “did God really say” is to remind ourselves of what God has said…
