Plea for Grace April 8, 2022

Psalm 98:1-9 ESV - A Psalm.
1 Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
2 The LORD has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
5 Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody!
6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD!
7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it!
8 Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together
9 before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

Almighty God,

I praise You for Your steadfast love and faithfulness, for Your justice and Your holiness. You are the God of all creation. When the ocean waves crash into the shore, they are praising You for Your faithfulness in the constancy of the tides. When the river rapids roar so loudly that it blocks out almost all other noise, the rapids are declaring Your might and Your power over all the earth.

When the birds sing, they are singing because You have given them a voice. Every tree branch that grows green buds in the Spring and turns brilliant golds and browns in the Fall is praising Your faithfulness.

You have given me the ability to read and understand Your Word. You reveal Yourself because of Your steadfast love. Oh, what mercy and grace! When I come to Your Word, I know what a privilege and mercy it is that I can read and understand. You have opened my heart and changed my mind and given me Your Spirit to teach and to guide me. You have not left me alone for one second, and You will bring me to heaven to be with You forever. Psalm 119:64 ESV – 64 The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes!

  1. How Great Thou Art

    Oh Lord, my God
    When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

I want to know what you think!
