Plea for Grace April 27, 2022

Psalm 117:1-2 ESV - 1 Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! 2 For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!

Lord, You are faithful. Your are worthy of all praise. But there are so many throughout this world who do not praise You. There are many who have never heard of Your steadfast love and faithfulness. May I never forget Your mercy in sending people to tell me about Jesus, and giving me Your Word so I could learn about You.

For those faithful servants who are translating Your Word into languages of people who have never had a Bible to read, give them energy for the long task, and discernment and knowledge to know what words and phrases to use. Thank You for their language helpers. They often face opposition from their families and communities for their belief in Your Word.

When You called Saul of Tarsus to be Your witness —

Acts 26:16-18 ESV - 16 But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, 17 delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles--to whom I am sending you 18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

Thank You for those who have answered that same call and have willingly left home and family and friends to go to hard places. Give them strength and health for the task. May they remain faithful to You, faithful to their spouse, faithful to their children. Protect their children from bitterness and envy, and turn their hearts to believe the gospel.

Your Word will endure. You are sovereign and You rule over all. Thank You for Your steadfast love.
