Plea for Grace April 28, 2022

Psalm 118:1, 5-7 ESV -
1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! ...
5 Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.
6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
7 The LORD is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

I thank You, Lord, because You are good. You are faithful. Your steadfast love will never change. When I call out to You, You answer me by Your Word. By Your Word You instruct me, You counsel me, You encourage me, You strengthen me, You discipline me, You reveal Yourself to me.

Because Jesus took the just wrath that I deserve, because He paid the full penalty for my sin, I am free to obey You. I am free to call You Father. You are for me. You have given me a home with You forever. This life here is not forever. You will fulfill Your purpose for me here, and then You will bring me to my forever home with You. (see Psalm 16, 57, 119; John 1, 14-16)

I give thanks to You Lord, for You are good; Your steadfast love endures forever.
