Plea for Grace May 11, 2022

Psalm 131:1-3 ESV -
1 O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.
2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.

Lord, You do not just predict the future. You are eternal and all-knowing and sovereign– You are there, in the future.

Psalm 119:89-91 ESV – 89 Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. 91 By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.

What an incredible mercy that You care for me! I am not left to my own devices; Your plan is best.

But I don’t just sit in a corner and “let life happen. . .” No, I trust Your word, obey Your word, and “do the next thing” (thank you, Elisabeth Elliot). There is no time for worry or for believing lies about You. I believe Your word. My hope is in You.
