Proverbs 5:21-23 ESV - 21 For a man's ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and he ponders all his paths. 22 The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin. 23 He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is led astray.
Lord God, You are the source and the giver of all wisdom. How foolish to refuse such a merciful gift! According to Your steadfast love and mercy, You give ample warning of the consequences of deceiving ourselves into thinking we can be our own god. The fact that You see all my ways is not a threat but a comfort — You are always with me. You know everything about me. You want me to live wisely with discernment and ever worship You. Lack of discipline is deadly. Your wisdom is life.
