Proverbs 13:13-15 ESV - 13 Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded. 14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death. 15 Good sense wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is their ruin.
Lord, help me to listen to Your word and obey. Help me to reject the lies that my own heart tell me, as well as the lies the world offers. You have the truth. Your word is truth. You are the source of wisdom. Your word rescues me from sin and gives me knowledge and good judgment — if I will only listen and obey . . .
Pray for the Persecuted Church — OpenDoorsUSA
Little has changed in Mauritania from the standpoint of persecution. Any deviation from Islamic belief
is strongly opposed in communities and through family pressure. Pressure on converts from Islam to
Christianity can be very high, particularly in rural areas where tribal and family ties are especially strict. Violent Islamic extremist groups, like al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO), are particularly active in the country’s eastern border regions.
Day 1: Pray for the secret believers of Mauritania as
they seek to worship God
