Proverbs 19:20-23, 27 ESV - 20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. 21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. 22 What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. 23 The fear of the LORD leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm. ... 27 Cease to hear instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.
Father, keep me teachable and willing to listen to Your word. Your purposes are right and good, and I want to submit to Your sovereign will. With my whole heart I seek You; let me not wander from Your commandments (Psalm 119:10). I want to obey You, Lord. You are my King, my Savior, my God.
