Proverbs 22:15 ESV - 15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Father, Your rod of discipline is not a stick to beat me, but boundaries to protect me. Your rules are not to fuel Your ego, but for my protection. You are my good shepherd. You give me what I need. I accept Your discipline, Your boundaries, as good gifts from a good and righteous Heavenly Father.

My view of God as a loving father who gives good gifts, who guards me and guides me . . . When I see Him that way, my whole attitude changes.
As much as I want to kick against boundaries, I KNOW I need them!
