Psalm 17:1-3 ESV - 1 Hear a just cause, O LORD; attend to my cry! Give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit! 2 From your presence let my vindication come! Let your eyes behold the right! 3 You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night, you have tested me, and you will find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
*Note: by all means read the entire psalm; my prayer for you, dear reader, is that these brief meditations increase your hunger for God’s Word.
Lord, when my “this is not fair”-o-meter is clanging its alarm . . .I cry out to You. God, I don’t want to believe or submit to the lie that because life isn’t fair I get a free pass to sin. That is deceitful and wicked. You are the judge of the earth. You are the one who does right. You know all things. Remind me that Your mercies are new every morning. Your faithfulness is great. Remind me that I am the recipient of so much grace and mercy that is “not fair.” I have blessings so undeserved. I have Your word. I have Your salvation. I have Your presence always. I will trust You. Psalm 19:14 ESV – 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
