Plea for Grace August 3, 2022

Isaiah 52:13-15 ESV -
13 Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.
14 As many were astonished at you-- his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind--
15 so shall he sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths because of him, for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.

Lord, I don’t like to think of the ugliness in this world. But the sanitized versions of Jesus on a cross are not reality. Sin is ugly. Rebellion is ugly. The righteous requirement of the law (Romans 8) is costly. To think of Jesus, so beaten that his face was unrecognizable and then tortured on a cross, and that he endured all this willingly, for the joy set before him (Hebrews 12) brings me to tears of gratitude and awe of Your mercy and steadfast love. What a great Savior.

Day 3: Pray that the faith of new believers in Colombia would
increase as they trust God in areas so hostile to
Christians.
