Plea for Grace – February 21, 2023

Psalm 23:1 NLT - 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

Psalm 73:25-26 NLT - 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. 26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

Reading through the Psalms daily has become a precious habit or rhythm in my day. The more that I see how my God has revealed Himself in His Word, the more I want to know . . .I am also enriched in regular reading in The Valley of Vision, a collection of Puritan-era prayers and devotions. Whether or not you feel “stuck” in your prayer life or daily devotion, God’s Word is an essential part of every day for the believer.

. . .Blessed be thy Name for anything that life brings. How do poor souls live who have not thee, or when helpless have no God to go to, who feel not the constraining force of thy love, and the sweetness of communion? . . . (Valley of Vision p 149)

  1. The Psalms are so full of life experiences. They cover anything we are feeling. The more we read, the more familiar we are with where to go when we need to hear from God.

I want to know what you think!
