Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.”
God is God. That’s a statement, not a proposal or a question. It is a known fact. So, what do I do with that fact?
He is faithful; He keeps His covenant of love. . .
Here is my part; I must not only acknowledge God as God (the known fact that is whether or not I agree with it) but then love Him and keep His commands. Not because I am trying to win His approval (I already have it see Ephesians 1) but because He is faithful, and His covenant of love is a promise for my best and for my good.
Why would I want anything else? God is God. Knowing Him is the key to life. Obeying Him is the key to peace. His faithfulness extends to generations. That’s the way to leave a legacy — to be known as a woman who knows her God, and who obeys what He says.
I want that.
