Such a gift – Psalm 11

The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man. The Lord tests the righteous . . .Psalm 11:4-5

Such comfort! God is not detached and uncaring, and He is not rendered ineffective.

He is God.

And the “testing” is not a “put the screws to her, so we can all see how she will mess up!” It is a refining, as a craftsman will do to burn away all the impurities and leave the most precious and beautiful of metal. The “testing” is to show me how great and powerful God is. . .

In the Lord I take refuge . . .Psalm 11:1

Because He is God. Because He is for me. Because He is continually refining me so that I can take refuge in Him alone.

Now that is a Christmas present!!
